Underground MV cables

Description

The polymers used for the insulation of underground MV cables are either the PRC or the EPR. PRC is used in most applications while EPR is used for very specific applications (MV flexible cables for example).
Underground MV cables come in three forms:

  • unipolar cables,
  • three-core cables,
  • Twists (three unipolar cables assembled).

EVERWELL CAMEROON CABLES AND ENGINEERING SA manufactures cables that meet the requirements of its customers, both in performance and quality.

Use

The cables IEC 60502-2 or NF C 33-220 are intended for medium voltage public distribution MV 12/20 kV.
They consist of 1 unreinforced phase conductor. A semiconductor ribbon is placed under the copper screen

Insulation

The crosslinking process of polyethylene guarantees: excellent resistance to temperature (90 ° C)

  • high mechanical strength
  • excellent resistance to short circuits (250 ° C)
  • very good resistance to cold
